Senior Management of the General Partner

Greg L. Armstrong Chairman and CEO Greg has been with PAA or its predecessors since 1981 and is ultimately responsible for all facets of our business. Greg focuses the majority of his time on developing and refining our strategy, ensuring that we have the tools and capital we need to execute our business plan and helping us overcome obstacles as they arise.

Harry N. Pefanis President and COO Harry has been with PAA or its predecessors since 1983 and is responsible for executing our strategy, overseeing our day-to-day operations, coordinating the many disciplines within our organization and identifying areas for future expansion.

Al Swanson Executive Vice President and CFO Al joined us in 2000 from Santa Fe Snyder Corporation. His responsibilities include executing our financial growth strategy, maintaining relationships with our various capital providers, overseeing our financial reporting processes and safeguarding our assets.

Phil D. Kramer Executive Vice President Phil has been with PAA or its predecessors since 1983 and has served in a number of roles within the partnership including Chief Financial Officer for PAA or its predecessor from 1992 until November 2008. Phil has responsibility for our lease gathering business and related support functions, procurement, human resources and office services.

John R. Rutherford Executive Vice President John joined us in 2010 from Lazard, Freres & Co. where he was Managing Director and Head of North American Energy.  At PAA, John is responsible for overseeing our business development and strategic planning activities.

Dave Duckett President Plains Midstream Canada ULC Dave has been with PAA or its predecessors since 1984 and is responsible for managing our commercial operations in Canada. Dave and his group are also responsible for maintaining relationships with our Canadian and LPG customers.

Mark J. Gorman Senior Vice President, Operations & Business Development Mark joined PAA in 2006 from Genesis Energy where he served in various capacities including Director, EVP, COO, President and CEO.  At PAA, Mark is responsible for the majority of our domestic business operations as well as the commercial operations of our pipeline business development group.

Alfred A. Lindseth Senior Vice President, Technology, Process & Risk Management Al joined us in 2000 from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he specialized in risk management and arbitrage analysis. Al has primary responsibility for the design and functionality of our risk management policies and procedures, information systems and business processes.

John von Berg Senior Vice President, Commercial Activities John joined us in 2002 from Genesis Energy Partners where he was Chief Executive Officer. John is responsible for developing and executing commercial strategies designed to maintain the counter-cyclical balance of our asset base and enhance our margins.

Sam Brown Vice President, Pipeline Business Development Sam joined PAA in October 2009 from TEPPCO where he served in various capacities including Vice President—Commercial Downstream and Vice President—Pipeline Marketing and Business Development for the Upstream segment. Sam has primary responsibility for the commercial activities for all crude oil and refined product pipelines in the U.S.

Kevin L. Cantrell Vice President, Internal Audit Kevin joined PAA in 2009 from Protiviti Inc., where he served as a Managing Director specializing in Internal Audit Solutions. At PAA, Kevin is responsible for maintaining and improving our Internal Audit and SOX compliance practice through process, client and staff development.

A. Patrick Diamond Vice President Pat joined us in 1999 from the Energy Investment Banking Division of Salomon Smith Barney where he was heavily involved in our 1998 IPO. Pat devotes the majority of his time to partnership strategy and finance issues, assisting in our business development activities and overseeing our equity capital markets activities.

Lawrence J. Dreyfuss Vice President, General Counsel - Commercial and Litigation & Assistant Secretary Larry has been with PAA or its predecessors since 1981. Larry devotes a significant amount of his time to our acquisition efforts and overseeing the legal aspects of our day-to-day operations, while also serving as the General Counsel and Secretary of our Canadian operations.

Roger D. Everett Vice President, Human Resources Roger joined PAA in 2006 from Stone Partners where he was a principal.  He has responsibility for human resource management and devotes his time to recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, employment law, ethics and regulatory compliance, employee development, human resource communications and payroll administration.

James "Jimmy" Ferrell Vice President, Supply Chain Mangement Jimmy joined PAA in 2006 from ConocoPhillips Company.  Jimmy is responsible for functions all along the supply chain, including the majority of all purchasing requirements, all vendor contract negotiations, and fleet management.

James B. Fryfogle Vice President, Refinery Supply Jim joined us in 2004 from Marathon Ashland Petroleum and has over 29 years of experience in the crude oil industry. Jim is responsible for managing our lease acquisition and crude oil marketing group group.

Chris Herbold Vice President, Accounting & Chief Accounting Officer Chris joined PAA in 2002 from the accounting firm Arthur Andersen, LLP.  At PAA, Chris has primary responsibility for all aspects of our accounting, from maintaining the books and records of the partnership to reporting our results to the financial community.

Jim G. Hester Vice President, Natural Gas Gathering and Processing Jim has been with PAA or its predecessors since 1988 and is responsible for the business development, commercial and operating assets of our natural gas gathering and processing assets.

John R. Keffer Vice President, Terminals John has been with PAA since 1998 and has 25 years of experience in the energy industry.  John's primary responsibilities are managing the commercial operations in our crude and products terminals.

Charles Kingswell-Smith Vice President, Treasurer Chuck joined PAA in 2008 from GE Energy Finance. Chuck has over 25 years of experience in the energy banking business principally with JPMorgan Chase.  At PAA, Chuck is responsible for coordination of our banking transactions and lending arrangements, customer credit functions, financial planning activities, insurance risk management and foreign exchange and interest rate management activities.

Tim Moore Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary Tim joined us in 2000 from an independent E&P company and prior thereto was with a nationally recognized law firm. Tim is responsible for our corporate legal activities and all securities-related matters.

Daniel J. Nerbonne Vice President, Engineering Dan joined us in 2005 from Shell and has 25 years of experience in the pipeline industry. Dan is responsible for our project implementation activities and has oversight of our maintenance programs, including our API 653 and pipeline integrity management programs.

John F. Russell Vice President, West Coast Projects John joined us in 2004 from ExxonMobil Pipeline Company and has over 30 years of experience in the pipeline industry. John is responsible for managing our regulated and non-regulated pipeline activities.

Robert M. Sanford Vice President, Lease Supply Robert joined PAA in 2004 from Link Energy Where he was involved in Link's North American crude oil and pipeline operations. Robert devotes his time to managing the commercial operations of our lease marketing, trucking and marine transportation activities.

Phil Smith Vice President, Operations Phil joined PAA in 2002 from Shell Pipeline. Phil is responsible for the Partnership’s operations and maintenance activities on its domestic pipeline and terminal facilities.

Troy E. Valenzuela Vice President, Environmental, Health & Safety Troy has been with PAA or its predecessors since 1983 and has primary responsibility for the development, implementation and management of our environmental, safety and regulatory compliance initiatives in the areas of air, water, waste, site assessment and clean-up, emergency preparedness, security and employee training.

David E. Wright Vice President David joined PAA in 2006 from Pacific Energy Partners. Dave is currently involved in the development of a major deep water petroleum marine terminal project on Pier 400, Berth 408, in the Port of Los Angeles, which upon completion will enable the import of up to 25% of the petroleum needs of the Los Angeles area.

Roy I. Lamoreaux Director, Investor Relations Roy joined PAA in 2006 from Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Roy is primarily responsible for internal and external communications for the Partnership including investor, analyst and media communications.  Roy also assists with the Partnership's capital raising efforts.
