Patterson II

The Patterson II plant is located in Patterson, LA and straddles the Trunkline Gas Company Terrebonne System, a 1.5 BCF/D Gathering System serving the Coastal Waters of offshore Louisiana.

The Patterson II Plant has a design capacity of 600 MMCF/D and employs a cryogenic expansion process. The Plant has super fuel efficient, clean burn reciprocating gas compression and is uniquely configured. It offers three different NGL recovery modes; dewpoint only, ethane rejection and a maximum recovery mode. Ethane recoveries range from 8% to 70% and fuel consumption from 0.45% in the dewpoint mode to 1% in the maximum mode.

Fractionation of the Plant’s raw make is done at Riverside, Louisiana. Plant Product pricing is based on OPIS Mt. Belvieu postings. The Plant’s Residue Gas is delivered into Trunkline’s East LA system, a direct feed to the market clearing Henry Hub.

The DRMS allows us to manage PTR costs to an amazing degree. For the 2006 – 2010 period our purchased PTR at Patterson II was within 0.1% of our actual PTR volume. This means that we were able to model expected PTR volumes and purchase, in advance, 99.9% of the “actual” PTR consumed at the Plant. The result of this incredible accuracy is not only the elimination of imbalance penalties, but rigorous PTR cost control, a critical component in any process model.
